why...so...serious? |

For the last couple of days, I've been saying this to anyone who would listen and anyone who hasn't seen the DARK KNIGHT yet...
the movie was AH-MAY-ZING!!!
Christian Bale as always is the best Batman/Bruce Wayne for me but the highlight of the movie were the villains.
Aaron Eckhart (I've always had a thing for him ever since I saw "The Core") was unbelievable (in a good way) when he turned from the dashing Gotham City savior/white knight "Harvey Dent" into the sinister, vengeful Two-Face.
He made the character seem more human in such a way that you would understand and you wouldn't blame him at all if his character turned evil.
It totally slipped my mind that Harvey Dent would turn into the evil character that was once portrayed by Tommy Lee Jones (stupid Batman Forever ruined Batman for me!). I only remembered the character when he took his coin out and started flipping it.
I felt so stupid when I went "Hey! That's something that other Batman villain did!" in Tagalog to my friend.
Thank God she was too engrossed in the movie to hear me.
Ooh! Ooh! And the visual effects it took to create Two-Face was so cool!
And Heath Ledger...OH MY GOD!
He totally trumped Jack Nicholson's "Joker!"
He gave the most chilling, most creepiest, most psychotic performance of the Joker ever.
The way he delivered his lines, the way he moved, spoke and acted... just everything he did was perfect!
Plus he was funny when you least expect him to be. Totally did not expect the "You complete me!" line during one of his psycho rants.
He's truly an amazing actor. Too bad he's gone...
I'm not going to give away the plot coz it's something you have to see to appreciate. But seriously, I gotta say, The Dark Knight definitely lived up to all its hype. This is definitely one hell of a movie that you have got to see. |

the most much awaited week on the idiot-box ever! |
Sunday, April 20, 2008 |
The WGA strike is over! Hooray!
I know what you're thinking, if you're a big foreign-TV shows fan, you'd be all like "What is this idiot talking about?! The WGA strike has been over for weeks!"
True, but it's only this coming week we get to feel the end of the strike!
Wooohoooo!!!
There would be brand new episodes of Greys Anatomy, Brothers & Sisters, Gossip Girl, House and many, many more.
Can't wait!
Sad news for Heroes fanatics though, I'm so sorry to tell you but we're gonna have to wait til September to see new episodes. The episode we saw last year with all the "deaths" & cliff-hangers is definitely the last one for this season.
Not to worry though, Tim Kring promises that the 3rd season wouldn't be as boring as the 2nd season. Hey! I'm easy to please. As long as Sylar is in Heroes, I'm happy.
Now for My Boys and Entourage fans. New seasons will begin in June for both shows.
If you wanna know more about what shows would be good to watch this week i suggest you take a peek at this blog: Mindy's Watching Too Much TV.
Kudos Mindy! Your blog never fails to inspire me to be the best couch-potato I can ever be! :) |

Now I wasn't always the alternative-rock lover that I am today.
Back in my youth (I'm old now. I'm 29. Yi.), my musical taste would range from bubblegum pop boybands like NKOTB & Boyzone to R&B/Soul like Mariah Carey BelBivDevoe and BoyzIIMen. And I used to think that rock & roll was the devil's music... Great! I was "Kenneth" from 30 Rock! Lame!!!
Thank God I've matured and progressed to better music. :)
But lately, these guys have been all over the news and when I saw their latest PEOPLE interview on youtube the other day, I was immediately transported all the way back to my childhood...
The father of all boybands are back (Beatles would be the grandfather)!

NKOTB has finally reunited after more than a decade!
It's about damn time! Us fans (Don't care if you think I'm lame! I was and always will be an NKOTB fanatic and I'm darn proud of it!) have been waiting for this for a loooong time.
I remember their concert here in Manila back in 1992 I was in the 7th grade I think. Saved up all my Christmas money just to see them. It was the first ever concert that I saw and it was totally worth it. Then 2 years later they broke up.
But it's all good! My favorite "Kid," Jordan Knight came out with a solo album and came back to Manila in 1999 to do a concert with 98 degrees so at least I got to see him again. :) Hehehe. Told you I was a fan!
Here's hoping that the newly reunited, old (but hotter-looking) kids on the block decide to come back to Manila one more time to grace us with their presence.
They're coming up with a new album, which I think will be released this summer. Try looking for their new single "Click, click, click". It's actually not bad. I also read somewhere that one of the songs in their album would contain a track written by another former boy-bander, Take That's Gary Barlow. I'm kinda looking forward to that too since I liked Take That for a while.
Here's a suggestion though, if they want instant stardom AGAIN, they should look into working with magicman, Timbaland. I'm sure that any track they'd do with him would be awesome! |

I would just like to take a moment to acknowledge how great my officemates are.
No wait! "Officemates" would actually be an insult to them.
Let me start over...
I would just like to take a moment to acknowledge how great my FRIENDS are! :)
I just had my 29th birthday a couple of days ago and I was given a surprise, not one but THREE times.
First was the standard "happy birthday" pseudo-banner (of course instead of putting my name on the banner they placed "ate shawie" - stupid TSU boys) and a gift from the unit I was from.
Then about an hour after, I got another surprise, a computerized home-made card signed by all my friends at the office. It was totally unexpected!
Kudos to the brave souls who actually pulled that one off (Clang, April, Tina, Icel, and my two Boss Bosaboses, Senyor Angel el diablo and Karlo). Honestly, this for me was the best surprise I got out of all the 3. :)
And then in the afternoon, April deviously lured me to Megamall to buy her out-of-stock beauty products so that the remaining conspirators could carry on with the final surprise... balloons (an idea they originally got from the infamous "lets-give-jenny-a-get-well-soon-balloon-and-tiny-pig-for-valentine's-day" pretend secret admirer. I KNOW WHO YOU ARE DUMBASS!) and a cake, which of course we all ate before the day ended.
The surprises couldn't have come at a better time.
I know I thanked them already but I could never thank them enough.
Thank you to all those who helped make the last birthday I have before I hit the big 3-0 a very memorable one. |
