well, looks like i'll be downloading some new stuff on isohunt...
MY BOYS
it's a relatively new show on etc, started mid-2006 on tbs. about a tomboyish female sportswriter in her late 20's with a set of sports fanatic male friends. the show focuses on the usual... life, love and dating then throw in a little sports analogies here and there.
my take on it... i didn't get the sports talk at first (well, i still don't get the sports talk) but after watching a couple of hilarious scenes with jim gaffigan (and after noticing how hot reid scott was) i got hooked. the show is funny, smart and while it's not totally laugh-out-loud funny, it has it's moments, like the "douche-bag intervention" (one of my favorite episodes so far). and i can totally relate to the female lead with regards to interests (not sports though) and her level of maturity at her age, which is from about zero to none. but despite the show being an in-between season replacement for the cool shows and its underratedness (is this even a word) it had its share of well-knows guest stars. so far ryan reynolds, jeremy sisto, johnny galecki and even scrubs regulars neil flynn (the janitor) and travis schuldt (keith) as well as 30 rock's "kenneth" stopped by.
right now the show just ended it's 1st season with a cliffhanger that is killing me and no news about when the 2nd season will start due to the writers strike.
GOSSIP GIRL
fondly dubbed "GG" by it's fans (for me though Gilmore Girls was and always will be the only GG). i'm not exactly proud to admit that i actually like watching this show. but while a lot of people are tuning in coz of the love lives of the young 'uns i tune in to find out what happens among the adults in the show. i really want 'rufus' and 'lily' to get back together, which of course would mean doom to their kids who are currently a couple. man i'm old! the show is like "mean girls" meets "cruel intentions" meets "the o.c." the songs they feature aren't that bad either, so far they've gone through jt, fergie, timbaland and aqualung songs.
if you're bored and looking for new shows to watch i recommend that you tune in to these two on etc.
i just saw the latest scrubs episode all thanks to isohunt and i just saw the friggin funniest scrubs moment ever (courtesy of dr. cox, jd, turk and the todd)!
to all ye loyal scrubs fans you'll definitely love this. and lets just enjoy scrubs while we still can. this is definitely their last season. let's hope the WGA strike doesn't cut this season short.
is it too much to ask to give the writers what they want?!
anyway just turn off my player at the lower right of the blog to get the full effect of the scene...

HEROES CAST
LOST SEASON 3 CAST
HEROES vs LOST yeah! i know, i know! it's somewhat like comparing day & night but i just can't help but notice a couple of similarities. and of course what else is there for me to do but blog about it!
the two shows have done spectacularly well during their first seasons.
well, LOST sort of lost its glory when we all found out what was in the hatch. although, after doing a marathon of its 3rd season, i have to admit, i was hooked again (they're showing the future now! you think you'd lose interest because you know they get off the island but you don't. believe me, it just gets more interesting!). we have yet to see the 2nd season of HEROES. hopefully it doesn't go through the dreaded sophomore slump.
anyway, both shows have this underlying unnatural if not supernatural theme. HEROES has the mutant powers and LOST has the weird island with the island monster, which by the way, they still have no explanation for. can't wait to see how the scriptwriters would pull that off!
both shows revolve around a very complicated connect-the-dots theme where very different characters who don't know one another but for some reason are more connected than they know and are all of a sudden thrown together for one major reason. HEROES has the "save the cheerleader, save the world" reason and LOST has the "push the button, save the world" reason.
both shows have one super-uber villain each. HEROES has Sylar (papa!) and LOST has Ben (not papa!).
but aside from being both very good shows, that is definitely where their similarities end.
can't say i have a favorite between them at this point but i do strongly recommend that you watch both.
Season 2, which plot was supposed to feature a whole new set of "heroes" changed its M.O. to featuring the origin of the "heroes" powers (beginning with of course Hiro witnessing a an eclipse during the 17th century) and a bit of the "heroes" of the previous generation instead. Meaning we get to see a lot more about Mama & Papa Petrelli, Linderman, Papa Suresh and Papa Nakamura and of course Hiro trying to survive in the 17th century for the first part of next season. The rest of the remaining present "heroes" whose brains Sylar hasn't feasted upon yet will also be back. Woohoo! Want more? The "heroes" or "anti-heroes" who will be back next season...Sylar, Sylar and Sylar. Come on?! You really think they're gonna kill him off?! Its difficult to find another nemesis as hot as Sylar is!! The "bomb" is still on and I know who the "bomb" is but I won't tell. But it's definitely not Ted (aka Radiation man).
on Grey's Anatomy...
Dr. Addison Montgomery heads off to LaLa-land for the Grey's spin-off "Private Practise." Don't worry, if things don't work out for her in L.A., Grey's producers promised that there will always be room for her in Seattle Grace. We'll probably be seeing a lot of the third Grey sister, Lexie (geez, how many Grey's can one take?). Chief is still and will always be Chief and is back together with his wife Adele. McSteamy WILL BE BACK. Woohoo! McDreamy and Meredith are over (for the meantime anyway) and so are Burke and Cristina. Callie wants a baby with George. George loves Izzie and Izzie loves George but George failed his intern exams. Alex is still Alex. Poor, lonely, always-pretending-to-be-an-asshole-but-he's-not, lovesick Alex. Don't know if Jane Doe, no wait, its Rebecca Pope now will be back.
on Lost...
The show got renewed for at least 2 more seasons. Michael and Walt are NOT returning. Why would they? Anyway, Jack & Sawyer are still alive and that's all that matters to me.
on Gilmore Girls...
It's over! OVER!!! Why?! Why?! Why?! Sniff. I'll really miss the Lorelies' and the Emily.

SCRUBS SUPERNATURAL CSI (Vegas baby!) SMALLVILLE HOUSE UGLY BETTY ONE TREE HILL
By the way, fan faves The O.C. (One Tree Hill rules!!!) and Veronica Mars...CANCELLED. Hehehe. Good riddance.
if you haven't heard about the tv show "heroes" by now you must probably be living under a rock. i turned a couple of my officemates into fanatics of the show by the time they were on just the 9th episode of heroes and it was n't even as interesting or as exciting back then as it is now.
still not convinced? let me put it this way, compared to this show, LOST is crap.
come on! you have no excuse for not watching this magnificent show! it's on free tv man (promo insert --> watch rpn 9 on sundays at 8pm)!
first season just ended yesterday in the states and thanks to dsl i get to download the finale and watch it in a couple of hours. for those who can't wait to know what happens, you can read the summary of the episode at this link.
for those who are just starting to appreciate the show, here are some tidbits about the shows immediate characters to help you figure out what the hell is going on cause trust me, it gets confusing a lot of times...

claire bennett (hayden panettiere) ... cheerleader, can regenerate - ability to heal herself
jessica / niki sanders (ali larter) ... doting mother to micah / hitwoman / split personality, has super strength
d.l. hawkins (leonard roberts) ... ex-con / father of micah, can pass through basically anything
micah sanders (noah gray-cabey) ... son of jessica/niki and d.l., can manipulate any electronic gizmo there is
matt parkman (greg grunberg) ... policeman / fbi wannabe, can read minds
isaac mendez (santiago cabrera) ... creator of 9 wonders comics / artist, can paint the future only when he's high - well at first anyway
hiro nakamura (masi oka) ... bored japanese yuppie who wants to save the world, can manipulate time and space continuum - can teleport anywhere at any given time
sylar / gabriel gray (zachary quinto) ... watch repair guy, immediate power is the ability to know how things work - duh?! what a wussy power! no wonder he steals other "heroes" powers / pure evil disguised as a hottie (i crush him so much!)
mohinder suresh (sendhil ramamurthy) ... professor trying to educate "heroes" on their abilities / has the only formula needed to determine who are "heroes", no known power
mr. bennett (jack coleman) ... adoptive father of claire / paper businessman - or is he? , no known power
ando masahashi (james kyson lee) ... hiro's super bestfriend, no known power
simone devaux (tawny cypress) ... ex girlfriend of isaac or peter or is it isaac. yeah its definitely isaac or peter i think. slut! , no known power
